Urushi treatment

URUSHI TREATMENT by adding some urushi coating to the inside of the jinashi bore. The urushi used is the ki or seshime urushi, it is raw urushi without any pigments mixed in.

In the liquid state it has a light brown colour, but darkens quickly when exposed to air. It will cure to an almost black dark brown.

I protects the inside of the bamboo against e.g. mould and also facilitates easier cleaning. It will have a negligible effect on the sound.
