I bought two PVC shakuhachi from Thorsten: a 1.5 and a 1.8 with an extra hole. Both are beautifully tuned and play really well. The PVC material withstands the Finnish winter, so I can take them to rehearsals and gigs without worrying about cracking or damage. The extra holes on the 1.8 give you many more possibilities to play different scales. Last but not least, Thorsten’s customer service is excellent, highly recommended!

I am so glad that I went ahead and placed an order for a 2.1 with shakuhachi-atelier. The flute is truly beautiful and has been crafted to a high standard with great attention to detail. It sounds fabulous and it was speedily delivered too, with kind attention from Thorsten. I highly recommend this maker!
