This jiari shakuhachi is made from japanese madake bamboo. This shakuhachi has a dark deep sound and tone colour, with a wide harmonic spektrum. It has a good response and balance throughout the octaves. Both, otsu and kan register are easy accessible and capable of the dai-kan range.

There are traditional rattan bindings and metal rings for strengthing on the middle joint and the bore is finished with red urushi lacquer. The bamboo has a rather unique look through the light brown colour patches on the bamboo surface is beautiful, it is also shaped with a slight curve towards the root end. At 365 g the flute is light and comfortable to hold and play.

This shakuhachi can be used for various styles and genres e.g. honkyoku, sankyoku or modern music. Its 2.0 length makes it particular suitable  to honkyoku repertoire. The shakuhachi comes with a bag.
