This jiari shakuhachi is made from japanese madake bamboo. The flute has a rich bright tonal colour with a soft open sound, great response and balance throughout the octaves. Both, otsu and kan register are easy accessible and is also capable of the full dai-kan range.

There are traditional rattan bindings on the middle joint rings and the bore is finished with black urushi. The bamboo has the traditional root-end and is comfortable to hold as at 331 gram the flute is rather light. The bamboo was adjusted in two places to create ideal node spacings to place finger holes, then finished with rattan to blend into the bamboo).

This shakuhachi can be used for various styles and genres e.g. honkyoku, sankyoku or modern music. The shakuhachi comes with a bag (silver-grey).
