This 7-hole shakuhachi was made as a special order,. and furthermore it was constructed out of one piece of bamboo without a middle joint. This eliminates the need to drill the extra ri/hi meri hole) through the joint tenon. and ishould mprove stability. The inside bore is finished with black urushi.

The flute has a bright tonal colour with a broad, open sound, a good response and balance throughout the octaves. Both, otsu and kan register are easy accessible and is also capable of the dai-kan range. The bamboo is very comfortable to hold and the flute at ca. 374 gram is medioum weight.

This shakuhachi can be used for various styles and genres e.g. honkyoku or shinkyoku or min’yō. The shakuhachi comes with a protective utaguchi cap and grey cloth bag.
