Strong, solid piece of madake bamboo gives the shakuhachi a tone with a full body and excellent range of tonal colours. A round, solid otsu, as well as kan register and accessible dai-kan (3.octave) too.
Joint with traditional metal rings and decorative rattan binding. More than medium weight but an ergonomic shape and weight balance make it comfortable to hold. The bamboo has subtle pattern and beautiful shaped root end. This shakuhachi can be used for various styles and genres (e.g. honkyoku, sankyoku, min’yō).
The shakuhachi comes with a protective utaguchi cap and a carrying bag. (see pictures)
