This jiari shakuhachi has been made from japanese madake bamboo, which was harvested about 25 years ago. This length of time of drying makes excellent bamboo for shakuhachi. Great tonal range, response and dynamic possibilities. A pleasure to blow and plays full dai-kan too.

There are traditional rattan bindings on the middle joint rings and the bore is finished with black urushi. The bamboo is very comfortable to hold and the flute at 340 gramm is regarded as light.

This shakuhachi can be used for various styles and genres e.g. honkyoku or shinkyoku or min’yō. The shakuhachi comes with a silver grey cloth bag.
