This shakuhachi has a deep, full tone. It plays very easily through the octaves with equal weight to the sound colours.
The shakuhachi is made from a rather thick, round piece of bamboo, with attractive markings towards the root end of the flute , the middle joint with steel rings and rattan bindings to compliment its appearance.
The shakuhachi can be used for various styles and genres, probably particular suitable for honkyoku music. It comes with a protective utaguchi cap and a carrying bag. (see pictures)
