Teruo Furuya – Shakuhachi Suisou

Teruo Furuya, director and principle instructor of the Kokusai Shakuhachi Kenshūkan (KSK) in Japan, is one of the most respected shakuhachi performers in Japan today. He started learning the shakuhachi at the Tokyo Gakugei University. In 1969 he became a student of the legendary Yokoyama Katsuya (1934–2010) and studied  and recorded with him for more than 40 years.

Shakuhachi Suisou presents his first recording of a selection of classical honkyoku music and modern pieces dating from the 1920s to the 1970s.
